What is nutrition? Nutrition is the science that deals with food and how the body uses it (Dwyer). Eating and maintaining the right nutrition in a diet is a key part of living a happy and healthy lifestyle. Eating healthy has many benefits that most people are uneducated about. Educating people about this can completely turn lives around. Having the right diet and eating healthy can help prevent health related diseases, gives energy to get through the day, and helps muscle growth and weight loss. Health related diseases are common in the world today. Many people suffer from diet and health related diseases every day. Having a healthy diet can help to prevent many diseases like heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and certain types of cancer. Controlling your portion size can help prevent these types of diseases (ââ¬Å"Heart-healthy dietâ⬠). Eating the right amount of food for a certain diet can do wonders for your health. This means that a person should eat the right amount of food for their body, not someone elseââ¬â¢s. An athlete will have to eat more than a person who is trying to slim down. Another way to help prevent health related diseases is eat more vegetables and fruits. Vegetables and fruits are great sources of vitamins and minerals.
